Secondary School
(7th - 12th grades)New Life Christian School is designed to work with the home and church to provide a Christ-centered, spiritual, academic, and physical foundation for life in a safe, nurturing environment, producing godly men and women who are a transforming influence in their world.
ACADEMICS
Strong Scholars
Academics are something we value at New Life Christian School, and we are committed to your student's scholarly success. Our small class sizes allow teachers to work with students individually and as a group to reach their goals. Curricula is carefully chosen based on the value to the student both academically and spiritually. We find that most people who graduate from our program are able to go on to college and attain the confidence needed to succeed in any area they are called to serve. Achievement testing is administered yearly.
Bold Faith
We believe that a healthy faith in Christ goes hand-in-hand with the powers of a well-trained mind, so that's why we make God the focus of all we do. Weekly Chapel, Mission Trips, Spiritual Emphasis Week, Worship Team, Speech Meet, and Scripture Memorization are all geared towards a deeper walk with God. Our objective is not to emphasize one denomination, but to promote the fundamental truths of the Bible. Godly ethics and Christian philosophy are the governing principles behind our policies and Christian staff are selected prayerfully.
Good Citizenship
We strive to provide pathways for our students to exercise good citizenship, developing their own God-given abilities and talents and providing opportunities to serve and to lead in our communities — including our school, churches, local area, and beyond. We use Field Trips and Educational Trips to supplement classroom learning and routinely bring in guest speakers for Chapel. Digital citizenship is also a priority, so modern technology is provided in the classroom along with instruction on proper use.
Communication
High School students are expected to participate in our ACSI District Speech Meet. This develops communication skills and techniques to communicate effectively, persuasively, and confidently in front of an audience and in any other capacity that students are called to perform in the future. Safe and effective digital communication is also taught. High School students can participate in Student Council, lead in Chapel services, and work on the Yearbook Team.
Music & Arts
High School students can elect to participate in weekly Chapel by joining the worship team. Participation can include vocals, instruments or technology by way of running sound board & all media in relation to worship. Art classes and yearbook are also optional electives for older students.
Phys Ed & Sports
Physical education is an important aspect of health that we promote daily at New Life with a P.E. program that includes fitness training and sports. Movement improves learning, so students have regular opportunities for recess or stretching between desk work. Students in the high school grades are able to participate in our varying sports options — including Archery, Basketball, Rodeo, Track, and Volleyball — and even compete locally with other school teams.
